Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market

Vendor Handbook

Historically Fresh, Always Local

713 Ohio Ave, Wichita Falls, TX 76301 Saturdays 9:00am – 1:00pm, year-round

Become a Vendor

  • While we welcome agricultural, food, and artisan vendors, please keep in mind that we are a homegrown/handmade market. We require that 75% of the items sold at your booth are grown, raised, or made by you or someone directly involved in your business.
  • The exception to the 75% rule above is produce wholesalers, who are permitted to buy and resell produce but must clearly label any items that were not grown locally (150-mile radius of Wichita Falls, TX).
  • If you meet the above requirements and would like to become a vendor, we welcome you to fill out an online application.

Set Up & Breakdown

  • Vendors can begin setting up as early as 7:30am.
  • When you have finished unloading, please move your vehicle past La Salle on 8th St. or as far down Ohio Ave. as possible to ensure adequate parking for customers. Vendor parking is not allowed on 8th St. in front of the market building.
  • Vendors must stay set up until 1:00pm.
  • Vendors should take their trash (trash bags, boxes, etc.) to the dumpster behind the market. Please do not fill up trash cans meant for customer use with trash generated by your business.
  • If you sell out (yay!), you are encouraged to place a “Sold Out” sign on your table and are allowed to leave your booth to walk around, grab lunch, run errands, etc., but cannot break down your table until 1:00pm. Remaining set up until 1:00pm minimizes disruptions to shoppers and your fellow vendors.

Booth Assignments

  • Inside booth spaces are approximately 9’ x 7’.
  • Outside spaces are 10’ x 10’.
  • Electricity is available but is not guaranteed. The use of propane and/or generators instead of relying on electricity from the market is strongly suggested. Please discuss with management ahead of time if you require electricity.
  • If you are assigned an outside booth and plan to put up a tent, please keep in mind that tent weights are required. No tents are permitted inside the market building.
  • The layout will be emailed on Friday mornings (you may have to check your spam/promotions folder).
  • Booth spaces are assigned at the manager’s discretion.
  • If you have concerns about your booth assignment, please contact management so that any issues can be addressed before Saturday morning.

Vendor Requirements

  • Vendors are required to bring their own table (unless renting one from the market) and any shelves, racks, tape, clips, etc. that they will need to display and secure their items during the market.
  • A sign with the vendor’s business name is suggested (professional or homemade) but is not required.
  • Vendors are responsible for acquiring any permits necessary for their business and for following any applicable health regulations. The Wichita County Health District can help answer any questions you have regarding cottage food laws, food handler’s licenses, and health permits. The market does have a special permit which allows vendors to cook food on site without an event permit.
  • Please bring a mat or tarp to put down if you are cooking in order to maintain the cleanliness of the market area.
  • Food vendors must bring a trash can.

Participation

  • You will be sent an email and text message each week asking if you will be participating in the market that Saturday. Confirm your participation by responding to either the email or text to receive an invoice and be added to the layout.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be communicated to management by 12:00pm on Thursday in order to be eligible for a refund.
  • If you must cancel after 12:00pm on Thursday, please communicate last-minute cancellations so any necessary adjustments to the layout can be made.

Weather Policy

  • We are a year-round, rain-or-shine market.
  • The market will only be cancelled in the event that the weather poses a threat to the safety of vendors and shoppers. If the market is cancelled, vendors will receive a refund for their booth fee.
  • Summer.Cold water is available for free to vendors. If you need to cool down, please don’t hesitate to ask the manager for a bottle of water. Battery-operated fans are suggested.
  • Winter.Electric heaters are not permitted. Please plan accordingly. Warm layers, hand warmers, heated vests/jackets, and mats to stand on are all helpful for staying warm during winter markets.
